—”If you want to compete on the High Street in 2012 you have to be brilliant, and at 66p, the Greggs sausage roll is a British battleship.” - Alex James, the man behind 2 UK number 1s, that Girls & Boys bassline, and a Glastonbury headline slot.
Alex James has gone downhill since the days when he and I were in a band together.
(We weren’t in a band together.)
As much as my Northern pride leads me to support the growing trend of pies and Greggs and that, the truth is I’m not from Wigan and can’t get behind it in the same way as Alex James seems to have done, or as one music journo legend, Lancashire’s own Stuart Maconie, who articulates such passion in his follow-up to every music enthusiast’s must-read, Cider With Roadies, the brilliantly titled Pies and Prejudice.
Everything aside, this photo is brilliant, Rich is brilliant, Alex James is still arguably brilliant, food is brilliant! Yeah!
