Join us as we tag along with celebrity superfans like Harvii, who claims he has had his photo taken with over 1,000 celebrities. Harvii leapt to stardom after a picture of him offering a rose to Megan Fox went viral. Then there’s Steve, who gets the faces of famous people tattooed on his body, and Danilo, who relocated to the UK in search of his ultimate hero, Mel C.

When I befriended the one and only Tom Philip on Facebook, we had one friend in common and the fact that it was Harvii Roseboy Kindlon made me beam with love for the Internet.

Click through and watch part one of this fascinating documentary where the Vice reporter looks exactly like you’d imagine a Vice reporter to look like and the cousin looks like the girl from To Die For and find yourself seriously questioning whether or not you would ever get a tattoo of Giles or the phrase “Spice Up Your Life”.

My Pummelvision from Jennifer Morris on Vimeo.

Pummelvision takes your photos from Facebook, Flickr or (supposedly) Tumblr and puts them in a chronological slideshow with cool music. Watch your life flash before your eyes!

A great tool for documenting memories and sharing them in video form online. (Guess who made it.)

Facebook’s Zuckerberg Says The Age of Privacy is Over - ReadWriteWeb

I like the idea of approaching change as if you were just starting out. Ideas easily become convoluted and change often brings unnecessary mess but Facebook changed privacy settings for 350 million users as if they were all new users because it’s now “social norm” to have an online identity including personal information. It’s a clean approach and testament to the deserved success of the site.

Aardvark

Couple weeks ago I had my first mini tumblr meet-up when I met Katie for a coffee and to discuss Dan’s visit to the UK next month. We got to talking about Omegle and how dumb it is, when she had the idea that you should be able to talk to a particular kind of person - e.g. an artist wants to talk to a physicist so that you could actually have useful conversations with strangers.

Aardvark is kind of like this. You specify categories that you may be able to advise on and other users ask you questions via IM. Of course, if there’s anything you need to find out you get to ask a user who is knowledgeable about your topic.

So far I haven’t needed to ask anything but I’m sure something will come up and this seems like a way more personable and probably more efficient and effective way of finding stuff out than a standard web search. They encourage you to be as specific as possible to get the answers you want.

I think anybody can sign up via Facebook connect but I have a ton of invites so if you want one just hit me up.
