Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks // Vanessa From Queens
Some major shows to be watched in Leeds in the next couple of months! Lemonheads, Get Up Kids, Thurston Moore and Malkmus all have dates that I’m not going to blow off. Honest.
Soulmates Never Die // Wound On My Finger
I made a video and put it on the Internet for you to watch
Sarah tells me all the good books then reminds me of them when she tells me about the good books being adapted.
Sadly, I rarely make the time to read anymore. I read the Internet and newspapers because they’re on the computer and in the train station but when it comes to really reading, I need the book. No e-reading for me.
So, I’m almost done with Bossypants and going on a flight tomorrow (the flight is one hour to Ireland but that’s neither here nor there) so there’s a perfect excuse to sort myself out and finally read this.
P.S. Few things piss me off more than when they change the book artwork to the film poster but it was £3.96 from Asda the night before I go away so I’ve made my peace with it.
This band isn’t exactly my cup of tea. I probably know all the words to their songs and I don’t mind at least one of them, Modern Way is it? They’re inescapable, especially in Yorkshire.
However, after reading this article I can’t believe what they’ve done. Yes, they’ve released their latest album out of the blue to avoid leaks but that’s not the best part (is it even a good part?) - it’s a choose your own adventure album for only £7.50! You even get to customise your artwork.
BUT THAT’S NOT THE BEST PART EITHER! You can sell your customised version to other fans and if they like what you’ve made out of it then you get a quid for every version sold.
I can’t believe the Kaisers of all bands have probably found the most innovative and probably most effective incentive for people to actually pay for music.
Sixty seconds of banter with Jake and Reiss of Leeds band Circles on the steps of Leeds City Museum during Live at Leeds, one of the city’s busiest weekends (hence all the sneezes and stuff).
I never know if I’m going to keep doing these. I have a million to edit.
Anyway, YORKSHIRE
To Kill A King // Maps (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
Listen to this cover it’s ace.
