“These high-end specs are what makes the XF series the only HD camera of its kind to be approved by the BBC for full programme shooting – save for the Sony EX1 and EX3, which are only approved when using with an external recorder to achieve a 50mbps bit rate. So if you’ve noticed some programmes using DSLRs and vintage lenses for a highly stylised look, that’s all well and good, but according to the BBC other cameras are not reliably consistent enough to make a whole programme.”
If you go on the MSN UK homepage today you can see some AutoTrader videos which includes some background video I shot aaaaages ago. Their people hunted Vimeo for suitable content and contacted me to use it. Another one owed to the Vimeo!
Or you can watch the video right here! (Not on Vimeo)
We shot a proper advert yesterday for a price comparison website. I did some Modern Family/Arrested Development style stuff after for the fake behind the scenes and kept messing up the takes by laughing
Any tips? Found some advice on lighting which will be a challenge. I have a studio and presenter if I need. Also, it’s just an example video so which app should I demo?
We shot some highlights for the brilliant Live At Leeds 2011 including awesome acts like Cloud Control, James Blake, Loose Talk Costs Lives, Slow Club, Fixers, Mazes and Glasvegas.
I’ve done a lot of music-related video things solely with people that live around here that I only know from Tumblr. It’s totally just for fun and excitement and has even been written about by Soundcloud so I wanted to separate this stuff and give it a name as well as “rebranding” other things I’ve been doing so here is Glowing Rectangles, a collaborative umbrella where we do videos for the music industry.
We are willing to come out of the glorious depths of buzzband indie and going to try to cover more diverse artists
YouTube cannot be beaten for traffic and discovery. We will be using YouTube for the most part
The username “glowingrectangles” on Tumblr seems to be used on an inactive account so any advice on getting that URL would be grand. We don’t want to live anywhere other than Tumblr
We will be including live performances amongst our videos but this is only part of our jigsaw. Live sessions are being done very well by other local people like the brilliant Anthologies so that’s where you can watch that
Help us if you like even if we’ve never met. That’s sort of the point. All you have to be is interested, local, not high-maintenance and fun
